Contest Entry: Nassandra

Name:  Nassandra ( of course this is completely up to you. I really just wanted to find a name that meant hope )
Name meaning: native spirit with high hopes in life
Age: 10 years of gathered wisdom and world views
Gender: Female
Personality and Bio: Nassandra has always had a calm demeanor. Even as a baby, she would be found soundly asleep in the dark hours of the night. It was rare for her parents to wake up to the heart wrenching sounds of their baby's tears, which was saved for when she was very sick, hungry, or in a desperate need of a diaper change. Yep, with their ability to steal a few good nights rest, the royals were definitely the envy of almost every new and experienced parents alike. Growing up, Nassandra was fortunate enough to have influential figures that readily nurtured her educational and vocational pursuits at a drop of a hat. Being a princess meant that she didn't be stifled and told "You'll have to wait until you're older." and "You're not at this level yet." Because of this, her mind and intellect was able to expand to heights and depths that surpassed her peers. She might not have been born a prodigy- but experience certain passed her off as one.

Outside of her studies, Nassandra's personality takes on a nice mixture between her parents. She is very adventurous in her pursuit for knowledge, which is aided by her athletic nature. She enjoys learning and reading just about everything. She is often seen with a book (or three) in her hand while she scrutinizes her current object of interest. Nassandra is very loving towards her parents and her godfather Ancient. When she's with her mother, she loves hearing her talk about nature. This is the reason why she has a whole section in her personal liberty dedicated to nature, natural remedies, herbs, cures, etc. When she's with her father, she loves to learn the in's and out's of the kitchen. Since he truly enjoys the art of cooking, Nassandra will "accidentally" mess up a minor ingredient. Her MO is usually adding/substituting in something very minuscule in terms of health risk- but huge in terms of flavor. It's his little happy place away from the stress of ruling. So why not give it to him? Plus, Hope loves to see that little twinkle that appears in her dad's eyes when he cooks. To her knowledge, the stern ruler has yet to catch on to her antics. Even if it's done out of love, a part of her wonders if she should feel guilty for purposely trying to ruin a delicious meal.

Quirk1: Nassandra loves riding horses. When she was a toddler, she would climb on top of Ancient (or at least attempt to) and sit on his shoulder and pretend she was riding a horse. After the first time she was permitted to do so, she decided that it was permanently on the table. At 11 years old, Hope will occasionally ask Uncle Ancient to give her a piggy back ride. Although he is a man of great power and mystery, who is more than capable of installing fear in those he deems fit, to the young princess, he's just a teddy bear waiting to be hugged.... Poor Ancient. This apple did not fall to far from a particular tree. 

Quirk 2: Nassandra really loves nature and pretty things. She's at a phase where she likes braiding hair, making flower crowns, and sticking in as much flowers as a set of hair can possibly hold. When her parents are away/ busy, her non-existing fear of Ancient makes him an easy target for her youthful shenanigans. 

Quirk 3: Nassandra loves learning ballet with her mother. She really loves watching the royal flawlessly move across the dance floor. When she can, she'll also make Vexer be her dance partner. When she was very young, her father willingly put on a tutu for her. It's one of her most treasured memory with her dad, which is the reason why she will drag the reluctant royal to as many dance classes as she possibly could. Love makes people do crazy things, no? "Please, Papa? Ballet is so much fun when you're there dancing with me. You want your little princess happy, right?" ( cue in the pout with big animated eyes )

Quirk 4: Outside the kitchen and the ballroom, Nassandra loves getting into mini contests with her dad. She inherited a small portion of his good-nature, competitive spirit. There have been numerous of times where the two will randomly burst out into a foot race. She's a very humble winner, especially with her father. Since Vexer is mainly a serious individual, Nassandra will do what she can to mend any broken ego and try to keep her father in good spirits. It's her way for making up for dragging him to ballet class and for purposefully getting herself kicked out of the kitchen every now and then. Life's about give and take right?
    When she wins: "Papa, I thought you'd say you'd stop letting me win. Let's go for another round. But you have to promise to be serious this time." <3
    When she loses: "It's okay. It just means that I have room for improvement. I'll get you next time." <3

Author's Comment:
I don't usually draw little people (kids)... So that was definitely a challenge for me. 
When I started this, I was just going to draw the princess's younger self- but then I got caught up on the 8 head rule I was trying to master for the past... x amount of days.
So, she ended up being an older version.
Which didn't quite meet the requirement. Sooo... thus the 10 year old version came into existent. :3
Truth be told, I want the outfit the older one is wearing >m<
Out of all the outfits that I've designed, that one is by far my favorite.

Comment about the outfits:
They were inspired by fish, which is the reason why I drew that little guy swimming up there :3
The fabric connected to Age 19's shoes is transparent and very much see through.. which is what it means. but you know.. 
I made their eye lashes blue.
I was gonna try to go all out and make funky eye designs as well but there's not enough space for me to do that without everything being blurred into a blob. So :<
Anyways...
I really wanted to incorporate the little star from nightsheepstalker.deviantart.c… into this piece. So I added it into both outfits <3
Her hair is light gray/silver with light blue strands. :3 I wanted it to be a mix between mom and pops.
The color of the clothes is main based off of Vexer's design with some of Skylie's in the mix.
